THE REASONS AFRICANS MUST CONSUME ORGANIC FOOD
I want to ask a question, in Ghana do we have scientists and researchers to research on the various food consumed and the impact of chemicals on our food? The risks and rewards for chemicalization of our food, the impact on human health and environment.
This question is asked because Ghana has become glyphosate nation as everything we do in farming has everything to do with glyphosate. In our beverage and food chains we have seen high doses of sugar and other chemicals and no-one is educating us on the impact to our health, the environment and more.
The use of glyphosate in our food increases the risk of rheumatism, arthritis and joint related diseases following the prevention of lysine which is needed for proper joint elasticity and joint functions, hence the weakening of joints and pressure of weights on the cartilage between bones to bones.
Many health statistics at our health facilities shows formation of weak joints and doctors can't tell why the increases but closely looking at our food reveals the possibility of health impact of chemicals like glyphosate in our food chains.
Ministry of Agriculture must do well to educate farmers on the best ways to grow food and reduce the chemicals in the food chains. The ministry again must help reduce the importation of these fertilizers and agrochemicals to support the cultivation of food in Ghana. We can do better and increase food production without chemicalizating farming in Ghana.
We opt for organic sustainable conservative agriculture and that is the solution to tropical farming.
